Toolbox

Toolbox for holding my stained glass tools. Incomplete. This project is far more improvisational than my usual. I really had no idea how all these tools would end up fitting in the box that I was making. I designed each mechanism for securing the tools on the spot, trying to figure out how best to do it, and still maxamize the remaining space. It's still not clear if there will be enough space in the box for all the tools I need to store, but it looks promising. I used a hotmelt polyurathane glue (from titebond) to secure everything, so I can assemble pretty much as fast as I can think and cut wood. Lots of scroll saw and lathe work. Really, there's no need for this - I could just buy a toolbox and junk my tools in there; it's not like they're especially delicate or well made (unlike the woodworking tools). But they're a fairly limited set, and it's unlikely that I'll need more than I already have. And I needed to be able to haul 'em to class on the bike, so... why not?

	The stopper is blackwood with a little groove cut for a rubber o-ring. Now I can make stoppers for all the little bottles I have Date: 06/07/2005 Views: 176
